What Are Intolerances?

Pets, like their human companions, can suffer from sensitivities to food and environmental factors. When a pet's immune system incorrectly targets common dietary or environmental elements as threats, it can trigger a range of subtle yet significant reactions such as inflammation or digestive issues. These sensitivities can lead to an overactive immune response, affecting your pet's vitality and overall comfort.

  • Food intolerances in pets occur when their bodies lack the enzymes necessary to digest specific foods properly.

  • Environmental intolerances in pets arise when they react negatively to substances or conditions in their surroundings.

  • If not addressed, these sensitivities can lead to symptoms such as bloating, skin issues, joint pain, and general discomfort in pets.

  • Fortunately, you can manage both food and environmental intolerances for your dogs and cats with a temporary elimination plan.

  • Gradually removing triggering foods from your pet's diet will help their digestive system rebalance and heal naturally over time.

  • Identifying and reducing exposure to environmental triggers will support your pet's immune system, allowing it to heal and reduce reactivity.

5Strands uses cutting-edge bioresonance technology to conduct a thorough analysis of your pet's food and environmental intolerances. This Is A Life Saver!
“I purchased this test because my dog’s skin was super irritated and she was constantly scratching and the vet could not figure out what was causing it. She had been on steroid medications for several months and nothing was helping. After receiving the test results, it showed that my dog has an intolerance to beef which was the main ingredient in her dog food. Within 2 weeks of changing her dog food, the itching has stopped! This test has been a life saver! I would definitely recommend this product to any pet owner.”

    Thank God I Ordered This
"I was told when my puppy was about a year old that she had a poultry allergy, since then, I’ve tried Bison and Sweet Potato; Salmon and Sweet Potato; Beef (not beef meal) and green peas; Kirkland’s premium dog food; 2 varieties of the Solid Gold dog food; along with about 5 other foods and was at my wit’s end because I was running out of foods to feed my poor pup. I looked into allergy tests, found this one, saw it had good reviews and cost less than a trip to the vet, and ordered it.
Thank God, I ordered this because (1) the first thing my vet told me to cut was chicken, when it turns out chicken (but not chicken meal) was pretty much the only protein she could eat; (2) she was allergic to peanut butter, but because I thought she had a poultry allergy, all her treats had peanut butter in them; and (3) now, I finally know what I can feed my dog instead of just guessing/trying an elimination diet.
Please try this and do NOT listen to vets who just immediately jump to a poultry allergy conclusion!"

Saved Me From A Vet Trip!
"After being on an elimination diet for several weeks, this test has helped me confirm food items that we just can’t have in our diet. I believe this has saved me a trip to the veterinary dermatologist/allergist. The items that I had discovered at Home that were problems all came back as level three reactivity. We have so many level threes in our food groups that I’m very excited to see what eliminating them as well. Will do to increase our success with a home-cooked Whole Foods diet. It was very easy for me to see why we weren’t successful in finding any commercial dog foods we could tolerate. I highly recommend this. We’ve been having problems for months and researching the same. I put off ordering this for too long!"

    LIFE CHANGING!!!!
"Best money I’ve ever spent. I had a 7 month old German wirehaired pointer and he was itching so bad that his ears had no hair and neither did his tail. The vet couldn’t figure it out so I ordered this test and changed his diet for his food sensitivities. For the environmental sensitivities the vet gives an injection every 6-8 weeks. He is now 1.5 years old and his hair is back and no more itching!!!! I just recently got a German shorthaired pointer and first thing I did was get this test. If you’re debating on doing this test just do it. It’ll save you a lot of money and help your furry friend."

FAQs

Common signs of food intolerances in dogs and cats include chronic itching, skin rashes, gastrointestinal issues like vomiting or diarrhea, and frequent ear infections. Behavioral changes, such as increased scratching or licking, can also indicate a food intolerance.

You can tell if your pet has a food intolerance or allergy by observing symptoms like itching, skin rashes, vomiting, or diarrhea after eating specific foods. A food allergy often triggers an immediate immune response, while a food intolerance usually causes delayed digestive issues. Consulting with a veterinarian for proper testing and diagnosis is recommended.

You can tell if your dog has a vitamin or mineral deficiency by watching for signs like a dull coat, lethargy, poor growth, or frequent infections.

Improvements after changing your pet's diet for sensitivities can typically be seen within a few weeks to a couple months. The exact timeline depends on the severity of the sensitivities and how quickly your pet's body responds to the new diet.

You will receive your results within 5 business days after our lab receives your pet's hair sample.
