Unlike saliva or blood, hair retains its energetic imprint without degrading, ensuring reliable testing during transit. Additionally, collecting bodily fluids involves stricter regulations and higher costs. Case Study: Daisy

Daisy is a 3-year-old, 15 lb. Mixed Breed that presented with Extreme Hair Loss, Paw & Back Biting, excessive eye discharge that has persisted over the last 2 years. Daisy came from a hoarding situation and has suﬀered much trauma and is an extremely anxious dog. She always wears a dress to cover up her hair loss. Daisy has also been diagnosed with environmental allergies where her symptoms are always worse between the months of September through November. She was originally treated with Cyto-point injections during this time period but has stopped injections for this study.

FEEDING: She was currently fed a diet consisting of Farmers Dog and home-cooed food. The ingredients listed below are 1 of 4 highlighted colors, showing Daisey’s level of intolerance from a 5Strands test done 8/30/22.

RESULTS IN 3 WEEKS: A follow up call to Daisy’s owner revealed that Daisy has shown some improvement within the past few weeks even in spite of moving into a new home. Within three weeks of the diet change according to the 5Strands test results, Daisy’s hair loss has lessened and is not licking as much as she normally does.

RESULTS IN 6 WEEKS: Daisy is continually making improvements. She is now wearing a harness instead of a dress. Her anxiety has reduced, and she has stopped licking herself constantly. She has continued with the prescribed diet and is doing well with it. Hair is starting to grow back.

5 MONTH POST STUDY FOLLOW UP: Over the winter months Daisy did extremely well so her diet was modiﬁed a bit as she was not itching. However, in the Spring with the start of the grass growing, she started to scratch again. She was placed back on her originally prescribed diet plan and the itching soon abated. Daisy has a new full coat now and is feeling great.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS: Based on Daisy’s current conditions, we consider this a complete resolve of Daisy’s intolerance issues by changing her diet according to 5Strands results.

Case Study: Sasha

Sasha is a 1.5yr old, 50lb Belgian Malinois that presented with bare skin on upper lip and under chin and unexplained vomiting. These symptoms have persisted over the last 2 months. Sasha has not seen a veterinarian for these issues. No current medications are being given. Client has been putting Aquaphor on the dry, bare areas.

All the above food items were listed as insignificant responses on Sasha's 5Strands testing results. All ingredients are cooked. Sasha is fed twice per day.

RESULTS IN 3 WEEKS: A follow up call to Sasha's owner revealed that Sasha showed improvement within 10 days of dietary changes. Her hair loss and inflammation has healed on her face and neck. She gained 10lbs and had an overall healthier coat. Dr. Lori discharged Sasha from the study since her symptoms were completely gone.

5 MONTH POST-STUDY FOLLOW-UP: Sasha's owner has continued to home-cook the last few months. When Sasha was retested on 3/03/23 she was still showing no intolerance to ground beef, white potatoes, and zucchini. Spinach was a level 3 and chicken egg yolk was a level 3. The owner removed these 2 items and replaced them with other non-reactive veggies from her results. To date, Sasha has not shown any returning hair loss or inflammation.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS: Based on the above, we are considering this a complete resolve of Sasha's intolerance issues because of the 5Strands results and dietary changes.
